Sustainable Development: BEG Ingenierie, a committed company.

We are currently living a never seen before period (climate change, massive fall in biodiversity) in a troubled world. The consequences are very concrete: an increasing number of natural disasters, upsurge in land, energy, material, work and finance costs.

The current trends are driving us to reinvent ourselves. We have no other choice but to contribute to the necessary transformations of our offers and business models.

More than ever, our responsibility is to provide our clients with solutions that meet their challenges thanks to our involvement as an eco-friendly player of the property chain.

To this end, we have also created a strategic CSR committee, with a shared governance that steers the Group strategy, its “LUCIE 26000” involvements, our decarbonation process and the CSRD. Thanks to a certain number of indicators, it makes sure that we reach our sustainable development targets.

Our strength is in our collective. And all together we are working for a sustainable future.

BEG ingénierie, a committed company

BEG ingénierie reveals, designs and achieves innovative and eco-friendly property projects in France and abroad.

BEG ingénierie calls upon its multidisciplinary integrated expertise, acting alongside its clients and partners to enhance quality of life and embracing societal and environmental issues.

As it is ISO 9001 certified and Lucie 26000 listed, BEG Ingénierie has decided to embrace this approach resolutely and to show strong ambitions in the frame of its CSR commitments, particularly with a decarbonation scenario in compliance with the Paris Agreement

BEG Ingénierie wishes to become a leading player in eco-design with the development of its growth drivers, the reinvention of its practices, the diversification of its markets and the extension of its value chain.

BEG Ingénierie has selected 6 priorities among the United Nations sustainable development targets:

The search for environmental performance

We are working to make our buildings and construction sites more sustainable. In agreement with our clients, we undertake a certification process for most of our projects, by integrating many environmental requirements during the design of the building, and then in the follow-up of the construction site.

In addition to certifications and labels, BEG Ingénierie integrates the specific standards of listed buildings for environmental protection from the design of projects to their completion.

Thanks to its multidisciplinary design office, its in-house departments and its ongoing review of eco-sustainable materials (through the eco-lab) BEG Ingénierie proposes tailored solutions to address the needs and requirements of projects and clients with a focus on energy efficiency, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability. We ensure a responsive monitoring as well as we comply with sustainable development objectives.

When the clients wish to accredit their operations, we bring together all those involved in the construction of a building to achieve the required level of certification. We are all working together to fully meet the requirements of certification bodies

.

BREEAM:

The BREEAM certification assesses the environmental performance of a building considering various requirements, in particular energy performance, water performance, greenhouse gas emissions, interior air quality, using of sustainable materials and waste management. The buildings can obtain different levels of certification, from “Pass” to “outstanding”, according to their environmental performances. Achieving energy performance demonstrates a commitment in sustainability, environmental protection and compliance with international standards. Moreover, the certification can provide financial benefits as lower operating costs and improving investment liquidity.

HQE:

The HEQ certification (High Environmental Quality) reflects a balance between environmental respect (energy, carbon, water, waste, biodiversity), quality of life and economic efficiency for a global and multi-topics/multicriteria. This is also a strategic roadmap, a guarantee of cost control and deadlines during construction, of expense control and risks during operation, and differentiation during rental or sale.

BiodiverCity:

BEG Ingénierie has obtained the BiodiverCity® label for several projects.

This international acknowledgment enhances the real estate projects which include biodiversity in their design and completion.

By obtaining this label, BEG Ingénierie proves its commitment in nature conservation and users’ well-being. This label enables BEG Ingénierie to stand out for environmentally-friendly projects,  promoting the biodiversity and meeting  growing demand for natural spaces in urban areas.

The certifications, labelling and communities

ISO 9001:

BEG Ingénierie has been ISO 9001 certified since 2004

This approach has allowed BEG Ingénierie to involve all his employees through a key project, to identify the process and the risks linked to its activities and to listen to its stakeholders.

LUCIE 26000: CSR commitments

BEG Ingénierie is acting to improve quality of life and reduce the impact of its activities on the environment.

The LUCIE 26000 labelling, awarded in 2023, marks an important step in our continuous improvement process. It values the carried-out work and compels us to implement concrete actions in the foreseeable future.

This labelling sets the course to be followed by all our organization around 7 pillars:

  • To implement a responsible governance
  • To respect human rights
  • To develop responsible relationship and good work conditions
  • To preserve the environment
  • To develop ethics in business relationships
  • To respect consumers’ interests
  • To focus on local development and public interest

Our commitments are anchored in an action plan steered by a governance body.

Coq Vert:

BEG Ingénierie is a member of the Coq Vert Community, launched at the initiative of BPI France (Public Investment Bank), in partnership with ADEME (Agency for ecological transition) and the Ministry of energy and ecological transition.

Convinced of the need to act in favor of the ecological and energy transition, this new commitment (and the share of expertise with other innovative and involved builders) shows a new natural stage in our strategy.

At BEG Ingénierie, we believe in the value of innovation and sustainability in our work. We are determined to offer increasingly eco-friendly property.

Afilog Charter:

In 2021, BEG Ingénierie signed the Charter of Mutual Commitments with the State, alongside 42 logistics real estate players who were brought together under AFILOG (a trade organization that brings together actors from the logistics sector)

The 24 commitments in favor of economic and environmental performances in logistics real estate are focused on three topics: land sobriety, biodiversity and carbon neutrality.

BEG Ingénierie undertakes actions:

  • To prefer wasteland rather than undeveloped land for the building of warehouses.
  • To study and implement measures to encourage biodiversity in buildings, such as wildlife refuges, hedgerows, etc…
  • To cover an average of 50% of usable roof surface with photovoltaic panels.

Innovative and eco-friendly real estate projects

Our Transity by BEG offer enables our clients to initiate their energy transition with the support of engineers who are experts in this business sector and who are fully aware of its difficulties.

All departments of our multi-disciplinary design and engineering office (i.e. architecture, structure and earthworks, mechanics, electricity) are rallied to recommend work that they know feasible and for which they can also support our clients.

BEG Ingénierie’s exemplary sustainable projects:

Panattoni and ADM, supported by their Assistant to the Owner NR Conseil asked BEG Ingénierie to build a 45,000 sq.m logistics platform on a 15‑hectare former industrial wasteland (without land artificialization) in Allonne (North of France).

This 14.2 m high structure is composed of 7 cells, 2 subcells and offices.

It was designed in a way that respects the environment and the regional planning: preservation of agricultural use, optimization of artificial land, removing of asbestos and decontamination of the site, re-use of demolition materials, photovoltaic panels, self-management of rainwater, energy savings, bird boxes.

The project was used as a model by the AFILOG charter to follow-up the economic and environmental performance of the French logistics real estate.

The Panattoni project obtained a BREEAM Excellent certification and a BiodiverCity label.

BEG Ingénierie Italia achieved a complex urban renewal project, in the first crown of Roma for Carlyle and the owner Corsalis.

Within the scope of a turnkey contract, BEG Ingénierie Italia oversaw the complete renovation of a 16.600 m2 former industrial building to be transformed into urban logistics. Il Molino di Tor Cervara comprises 12,000 sq.m of storage and 2,700 sq.m of office building.

This project complies with LEED – GBC regulations and   environmental standards.
